What is breath play?
Breath play is a term for sexual activity involving restricted breathing. It is sometimes associated with fantasies of control or vulnerability in BDSM.
Restricting someone’s breathing or applying pressure to their neck can cause serious harm, even when no injury is visible. Consent does not make strangulation safe. A fantasy involving control can be discussed without restricting breathing or applying pressure to the neck.
